Pending our fixed installation in Dar Bouazza (scheduled by the end of 2007), our first activity will be by the end of march in the CQ-WPX SSB, from CN8MC (the ARRAM club-station in Rabat), we hope with the callsign CN5W (ANART authorization pending but expected).
Mohamed CN8PA, showing us the place where the station is being located; next to his metal workshop.
The DBCG is composed by the following members
CN8PA, Mohamed: Our friend and host in Dar Bouazza and a very motivated SSB operator. Mohamed is young and learns fast (he's currently learning CW), so I 'm sure he'll become soon a "top-notch" polyvalent contester. He's also a good "ironman" and can do anything with iron or aluminium - essential for a Contest Group !
F5IQA, Jean-Luc: Although is preferred mode is SSB, Jean-Luc is a polyvalent operator. He has a great experience of both HF and VHF contesting. He is also a fine tech. A real value for the Group.
SV3SJ (F5VIH), Nico: Our Doctor ! (Nico currently works as physician for the CERN in Geneva). Nico is an excellent and polyvalent contester, an excellent "builder" and a fine cook !
F6IRF, Patrick: You have dozen of pages on my 2 blogs, to discover who I am, so I would only mention, that this group and the Dar Bouazza station is a dream that is finaly becoming the reality.
See you in many contests... Patrickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05260650008909364021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19416260.post-1172355118946747352007-02-24T22:05:00.000Z2007-02-24T22:11:58.973ZThe CN2WW 80m wire beamA complete description of the 80m wire beam used in the ARRL-DX is here:
http://f6irf.blogspot.com/2007/02/cn2ww-80m-wire-beam.html
Patrickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05260650008909364021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19416260.post-1172311732648744102007-02-24T09:12:00.000Z2007-02-24T11:59:41.553ZARRLDX CW CN2WW M/S HP ARRL DX Contest, CW

Call: CN2WW
Operator(s): CN2NS, CN2PN, CN2WW
Station: CN2WW

Class: M/S HP
QTH: Casablanca
Operating Time (hrs): 47

Band QSOs Mults
-------------------
160: 216 43
80: 648 57
40: 1178 56
20: 974 59
15: 1100 56
10: 0 0
-------------------
Total: 4116 271 Total Score = 3,345,495

english version here
http://lists.contesting.com/archives//html/3830/2007-02/msg01551.html
Operators: Nico SV3SJ (alias F5VIH / CN2NS), Philippe F6IFY (alias CN2PN), Patrick F6IRF (alias CN2WW)
Station: IC7000 + amp / 500W
160: dipole
80/40: 2elts wire-yagis (matched with a pair of CWS/W2FMU multi-UNUN
transformers)
20/15: 2elts steppIR
10m vertical dipole (on a spare steppIR fiber element) - Juste utilisé
Accessoires:IBM thinkpad, N1MM-logger, microkeyer, ICE band-filters, etc..

The picture show an optimistic hypothesis (SSN=30 k=1) for the best hour (17z), where the only opportunities would be for South-most stations, located along the XE-border. With the NOAA predicted values (SFI=75 Ap=5), the MUF is likely to remain around 24Mhz. Of course the 10m-band is often full of surprises, and a bit of E's may help... Beaming both antennas to the higher MUF-zone in the south atlantic, may also give possibilities through "sidescatter" or "backscatter" pathes. It might also be some opportunities for "Long-Path" QSO's, especialy for South-states and West-coast big-guns (between 16 and 19z), so we will keep an hear on the band.Patrickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05260650008909364021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19416260.post-1170948895275847022007-02-08T19:19:00.000Z2007-02-08T16:12:39.953ZARRLDX - 15m propagation forecastsBased on NOAA propagation forecasts, I have built those maps using VE3NEA hamcap and DX-atlas.
